Vocabulary is probably the key for an effective communication. We know that for false beginners or more intermediate learners paraphrasing is a way to put our message accross but it is always best to know the exact words to use.
Technology is a big source. The Internet for example is an endless tool thas is accessible to a lot of people so you can start there. In my opinion Television is better since it's always there. Spend a little time watching TV in Spanish, choose the commercials and cartoons. There is always the news but some people may not be that thrilled to follow these! You can listen to everyday language if you watch the talk shows or soap operas. However you will always be safer to double check the use of some vocabulary there since words have different meanings within latin countries and some jargon may even be not appropriate or offensive.

Why Spanish?
I decided to start a blog to reach people interested in improving their present performance in this language. Here in Houston there is a lot of exposure of Spanish. There is a huge mainly Latin speaking community so the effect of this language will increase in the near future. Businesses have started to realize this and are taking action in order to keep up with the demands of this particular group and meet their needs.
